plattkeks® East Frisian
Our fortune cookies/flat cookies come in two traditional regional flavors—“Rullerke” (a New Year’s cookie with anise and cardamom) and organic sea buckthorn—and are filled with 200 words of wisdom in Low German, each accompanied by a translation into High German. The Low German spelling follows the national SASS dictionary to ensure it is understood across all Low German-speaking regions. The cookies are individually wrapped in an attractive design and can be given as gifts or enjoyed right away. We offer the Plattkekse individually, in a bag of 10, or in a gift box containing 10 Plattkekse. For Christmas, the Plattkekse are available in a “Christmas bag” or in a Christmas gift box.
Something truly special.
Low German fortune cookies that taste like Rullerkes (a typical East Frisian treat made with anise and cardamom). The slip inside enriches your life with Low German wisdom and always reveals the High German translation on the back. The ideal gift for every Low German fan. Tip: You can find the recipe for Rullekes New Year’s cake in Tini Peters’ baking book.
